Self-Assessment
There's a time to pause, a time to act.
Use the points below as a starting point for assessing your organization. As well, you may wish to refer to Common Issues to give you more ideas. If you are thinking about individual coaching, you can adapt these questions for yourself and also refer to How Will You Know When to Hire a Coach?
- Which are your organization's strong areas? Pick the top three. Write down specific factors which support them.
- Which issues do you see as most problematic? Pick the top three. Write down objective descriptions for each.
- Go through the Common Issues, add any of your own and rate your organization from 1-10. 1=unacceptable, 10=excellent or not a problem. What do you think of the scores? Try to identify patterns across strong areas and weak areas.
- Have a discussion with others in your organization about current strengths and weaknesses as well as risks for action and non-action.
- Do some research into the question of how best to intervene in your system. What kind of outside resources might be appropriate?
